Composer Lauren Buchter is an ASCAP "2013 Composer To Watch", and graduate of the Film Scoring Program at Berklee College of Music, where she received a Bachelor's of Music in Film Scoring while on scholarship. Her fluency in different styles has allowed her to compose for a variety of media including film, television, dance as well as concert works. She has composed new works for such ensembles as New York Youth Symphony, Kalistos Chamber Orchestra, Musica Bella Orchestra of New York, Symphony Singers, Esterhazy Quartet, pianist Kimball Gallagher, cellist Marta Bedkowska and students of The Juilliard School. Her music is frequently heard on NBC's "Dateline", ABC's "20/20", as well as Katie Couric's Show, "Katie". Most Recently, Lauren composed an original score for "Above The Sea" by Writer/Director Keola Racela. "Above The Sea" is currently a finalist in the 41st Student Academy Awards. The film has been an official selection at many festivals including, Lincoln Center, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, The Woodstock Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, L.A. Pacific Asian Film Festival, New Orleans Film Festival and in Belgium. Above the Sea has received many awards including a First Place Gold Circle Award by The Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors Foundation, and the Diane Seligman Award at the Woodstock Film Festival.
